CENTRAL ARKANSAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Plumerville Arkansas
August 17th, 2020

This 1/4 mile track located in Conway County and opened in the early 1990's was recently leased for 3.5 years by a local race group and will now be known as 'Central Arkansas Motor Speedway'. The new promoters have been busy with clean up as well as proper repairs and there will be a press release tonight on the FB page and here on midstouth announcing the classes they plan to run. Dirtwork is in progress to reconfigure the track and part of the pits have been expanded to make more room for large haulers and other upgrades to the entire facility are coming soon.
Some of the ongoing improvements include raising the slope in all 4 turns and the track exit has been moved to turn 1 replacing the old exit on the back stretch which has allowed for the widening and expansion of turn 3. There will be new and improved handicap accessible bathrooms in the grandstands along with new LED lights around the facility and even a sand box on the grandstand side for the kids with other upgrades to come.
If anyone has a business and would like to sponsor a 4x8 sign please reach out to the group thru the Facebook page. The more help the better as each sign helps pay for concrete barriers and new lights. The new promoters want to make this a family friendly place that everyone wants to come to. Thank You for your support.

Along with the things mentioned above, the promoter wants very much to get the kids involved in racing. There is a discussion going on right now on the track FB page about offering a 16 & Under FWD class, if you have kids who have a fwd car or want to get started then come give your opinion, ask questions etc. on the track page.

From C.A.M.S. promoter -
" We have had a large interest in a kids class Front Wheel Drive. I would like to know who would run this class and who has cars? Also these cars will have doors welded shut. A roll cage installed. A racing seat and seat belts. And a small fire extinguisher in reach of the driver. Safety is our main concern."

Looking forward to seeing everyone who can come for the Leon Cloninger Memorial Race on Halloween Very Happy
Improvements continue as the new handicap accessible & climate controled restrooms are almost complete. New LED lights around the facility and concrete barriers from turn 1 around to turn 4 are now complete. More clay has been added to the surface again and it is actually fine tuned and ready to race now but will be tweaking it week / day of the race. A transponder system will be added in days to come. The Pit expansion is complete also with more shale and dirt added to expand and firm up the back pits. Additional grandstands have been added to both spectator side and pits and the Sand Box for the kids is in process and Boss is buying toys soon.
C.A.M.S. would like to remind all Factory Stock, IMCA style Mods & Late Models attending this Halloween race that we are continuing to gain added money & prizes from several sponsors for all 3 classes. Come see Us Oct. 31st !!
