Chris Ferguson Scores Fourth Win of the Season at Screven
Pockets $5,000 in Georgia State Outlaw Championship
Mt. Holly, N.C. (11/25/19) – Chris Ferguson drove his Diff-Tran Machining, Inc. No. 22 K and K Trucking/ Bloomquist Race Car/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model to a $5,000 victory in Friday’s Georgia State Outlaw Championship at Screven Motor Sports Complex (Sylvania, Ga.).
“We raced hard. I hadn’t won since May and I really wanted to win this one,” Ferguson said in Victory Lane. “We threw a couple sliders, I bet the fans really enjoyed that race. Thanks to all my friends, family, sponsors, fans and the good Lord for blessing us with this win.”
In a field of 20 cars, Ferguson registered the second fastest lap in his time trial group behind Zack Mitchell, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the A-Main.
After tracking down race-leader Zack Mitchell when he made contact with the wall, Chris slid ahead on lap 36 and built more than a three-second margin in the remaining 14 circuits to capture his fourth win of the season. Mitchell, Jeff Smith, Cla Knight, and Kyle Hardy trailed him to the checkers in the 50-lap affair. (TDW Photography)

Saturday night’s Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series event at Lancaster (S.C.) Speedway was doomed by Mother Nature. From there, Chris made the trek to Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, S.C.) on Sunday for the 29th Annual Blue-Gray 100.
A stout field of 38 entries registered for the $10,000-to-win event. Following the second fastest time in his group behind Ross Bailes, Ferguson recorded a 10-lap heat race victory, locking his spot into the finale. Rolling off fourth, contact with another competitor sent Chis slamming into an infield tire. Unable to finish, Chris Ferguson was an early retiree from the 100-lapper on the seventh circuit.
