Dereck Ramirez Bags Pair of Podium Finishes in Casey’s Hunt Action
Pivotal Four-Race Swing Up Next

Woodward, Oklahoma (08/13/19) – Dereck Ramirez raced his Ramirez Motorsports No. 4r Koda Services/ Boom-Test Well Service/ Hughes Race Car/Cornett Racing Engine Modified to a pair of podium finishes over the weekend in Casey’s Hunt competition with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS).

“We had a really good weekend and came away with a pair of podium finishes to show for our efforts,” Ramirez said. “We’re digging deep to make a run at this Casey’s Hunt title. The upcoming weekend has four races scheduled and could be pivotal in how this point’s deal shakes down, so we know that we’ve got to do our part to get the job done.”

Friday night brought the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) to I-94 Speedway (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) for the fifth annual Casey’s General Stores Summersota Nationals. Passing four cars in his heat, Dereck Ramirez scored a third-place finish, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the $3,000-to-win A-Main. Advancing one position in the feature, Dereck notched a runner-up finish behind Landon Atkinson with Zack VanderBeek, Rodney Sanders, and Blake Jegtvig rounding out the Top-5.

On Saturday night at Ogilvie Raceway (Ogilvie, Minnesota) for the Modified Madness event, Dereck locked his spot into the main event with a runner-up finish in his heat race. Starting the 40-lap feature in third, Ramirez ran in a podium position throughout the feature before registering a third-place finish behind Dan Ebert and Rodney Sanders with Terry Phillips and Shane Sabraski completing the Top-5 finishers.

Dereck currently sits second in both the latest Casey’s General Stores USMTS National Championship points as well as the Casey’s Hunt standings. For more information on the events, please visit www.USMTS.com .

This week – August 14-17 – will find Ramirez Motorsports entering four Casey’s Hunt races with the USMTS. Action opens on Wednesday night at I-35 Speedway (Winston, Missouri) before shifting to Dallas County Speedway (Urbana, Missouri) on Thursday evening. Friday night will find the team in action at Lake Ozark Speedway (Eldon, Missouri) and the ultra-busy stretch draws to a close on Saturday night at Salina Highbanks Speedway (Pryor Creek, Oklahoma).
