Woodward, Oklahoma (07/09/19) – Dereck Ramirez made a clean sweep of both Modified features during the fifth annual America Proud Fourth of July Celebration event at Oklahoma’s Longdale Speedway. He raced to victory on Friday night and then backed it up with another win on Saturday night in his Ramirez Motorsports No. 4r Koda Services/ Boom-Test Well Services/ Hughes Race Car/Cornett Racing Engine Open Wheel Modified.

The victories increased his 2019-win tally to five.

Friday night found Dereck Ramirez in action at Longdale Speedway (Longdale, Oklahoma), where he was pulling double duty in the opening round of the America Proud Fourth of July special. Gaining six spots in his open Modified heat race, Dereck picked up a 10-lap heat race victory, which positioned him third on the starting grid for the feature. Cruising to his fourth win of the season, Ramirez outran Jon Herring Jr., Travis Johnson, Logan Robertson, and Hunter McDonald.

Meanwhile, in the IMCA SportMod ranks, Dereck followed up a heat race win with a fourth-place finish in the feature in the Mike Roach Racing No. 33d entry.

Returning on Saturday, Ramirez locked his spot into the $1,100-to-win, open Modified finale with a heat race victory. Holding off R.C. Whitwell and the rest of the field, Dereck soared to his fifth win of the season. Dustin Allen, Delbert Smith, and Travis Johnson completed the Top-5 finishers.

In IMCA SportMod competition Dereck posted a runner-up finish in his heat race, which locked him into the fourth-starting position for the main event. Racing in the Top 5 throughout the 20 lapper, Ramirez crossed the finish line in the fourth position.
