Shane Clanton Finishes Fourth in Inaugural First in Flight 100

Zebulon, Georgia (05/16/18 ) – Shane Clanton’s consistency continued over the weekend in his Weldbank Energy #25 Super K Express/ Capital Race Cars/ Clements Racing Engine Super Late Model.

The driver – who is known as “The Georgia Bulldog” – hasn’t finished outside of the Top 10 in his last seven events. In those finishes he’s had four Top-5 finishes, including a trio of runner-up performances. At Fayetteville Motor Speedway – during the First in Flight 100 – he crossed the finish line in the fourth position.

“We’re out here to win races, and right now we’re falling a little short of that goal, but I know that if we keep running consistent like this that the wins will come,” Clanton commented. “To start where we did, and finish where we did at Fayetteville was a solid performance for us. If we could’ve started the weekend a little better, we might’ve had a shot at the win. But that’s the way it goes, so we’ll move onto the next one.”

World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series competition found Shane Clanton at Fayetteville Motor Speedway (Fayetteville, North Carolina) on Friday night for the opening round of the two-day, inaugural First in Flight 100 presented by Hoker Trucking.

Moving up one spot in his heat race, Clanton landed a fourth-place finish, which locked him into the 15th-starting position for the $25,001-to-win A-Main on Saturday night.

Breaking into the Top-5, Shane advanced through the field 11 spots in the 100-lapper to finish fourth behind Jimmy Owens, Brandon Sheppard, and David Breazeale with Chris Madden coming in 5th.

Shane is currently tied for third in the latest World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series point standings. Full results from the weekend are available at www.WoOLMS.com .

Clanton will thunder ahead with the WoO tour this weekend – May 18-19 – when he rolls into Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio) for a pair of $10,000-to-win events.
