Mississippi has always provided some great local racing. One class that has not had a series to support is the Street stock division. We have had series for LM's, Crates, Mod's and even mini stocks, but not Street Stocks.

The Street Stock/Super Street division is one of the most supported and competitive divisions in MS and it is time to reward those drivers with something special. We are looking at starting a series for the Street stock division for 2013. We have talked to a few track owners already and hopefully by the end of the year we will be able to put together a nice schedule. We are looking at a 8 race schedule with races paying anywhere from $800 to $1000 to win and a $5000 points purse with contingency prizes added. We know some tracks run different rules, but we hope to provide a rule package that all tracks can support this series.

To make this happen, we will need the drivers support. So, if you are a Street Stock or Super Street driver, let your track owner know that you would like to see this series run at your local track. Look for more information in the upcoming weeks. We will also have a website started by mid summer.

Rules will be posted by mid summer. We are trying to work a package to fit all tracks and have drivers from all tracks participate. This will be our biggest task to overcome. But, we will make it happen. This post was to give drivers an heads up.

The tire rule will be a difficult task. To have tracks support this we will need to find a rule that works with all the tracks. At this moment there is not a tire rule in place. The intial thought was G60 only. That will not work at a few of the tracks we want to be involved. But, a tire rule will not stop this from happening.

I think that is a great idea!! You have to look out for the lower divisions as well! I agree the tire rule will be a huge issue. We run the 10 inch Hoosier RC-4s over here. I'd love to run MS tracks but cant justify buying 8 inch wheels and G-60s for occasional trips. Hopefully a happy medium will be reached!

If tracks will work with us it will be reality I'm putting up $2000 for the series .we are hoping to have at least have 20 cars at each race but more would be a lot better .
