Ricky Weiss Streaks to World 100 Podium Finish
Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals Next
Headingley, Manitoba, Canada (09/11/19) – Less than a week after winning the Baltes Classic at the famed Eldora Speedway, Ricky Weiss raced to a podium finish in the coveted World 100 at the ˝-mile oval in his Derrick’s Sandblasting No. 7 Kakela Farms/ J&C Properties/ Sweet-Bloomquist Race Car/ Vic Hill Race Engine Super Late Model.
“We had an uphill battle most of the weekend with the inverts and everything, but we has an awesome racecar from the time that we unloaded and ended up with a podium finish in the World 100. It’s hard to be upset about that,” Weiss said. “We had a heck of a race there with [Bobby] Pierce and [Jonathan] Davenport for the second half of Saturday night’s race. We got to second at one point, and I thought I might have a chance to get to the lead, but the cards just didn’t fall quite right. I’m still thrilled with a third-place finish in the biggest race of the year.
“I just want to thank each-and-every sponsor on my racecar as well as everybody on my team. We’re having a great year right now and hopefully we can go to Knoxville this weekend and get a win.”
