Jay Dickens Racing Engines Salute 2018 Customer Achievements

Aberdeen, Mississippi (11/08/18 ) – It’s been another wildly successful year for Jay Dickens Racing Engines clients. Across multiple divisions, JDRE customers scored dozens of wins and claimed multiple championships and accolades.

In fact, JDRE racers accounted for more than 150 triumphs in Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Factory Stocks.

“This has been an exciting year for our company, especially on the weekends as we get reports of more and more wins by our clients,” said company owner, Jay Dickens. “We’ve got some awesome customers, and there’s no better feeling than helping them reach their goals.”

Championships and titles dotted the landscape for JDRE customers in 2018.

In his final season with Brinkman Motorsports, Iowa’s Chad Simpson claimed the 2018 Lucas Oil Midwest Late Model Racing Association Championship. It marked his second title with the tour. He also claimed four wins, including his first-career World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman Late Model Series victory.

David Breazeale piloted his Franklin Enterprises #54 entry to the 2018 World of Outlaws (WoO) Craftsman Late Model Series Rookie of the Year title. He also finished ninth in the final series standings.

For the second-straight year Kentucky’s Tanner English claimed the Mid America Racing Series (MARS) Super Late Model Championship with JDRE power. Also, in the repeat champion category was Chad Thrash, who picked up another Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) title. Fellow JDRE customers rounded out the Top-4 finishers in the final series’ standings with Brian Rickman, Neil Baggett, and Rick Rickman occupying the positions.

Tennessee’s Jay Scott won both the Southern All Star (SAS) Dirt Racing Series Championship and the Rookie of the Year honors. Fellow JDRE client Mark Dodson finished second in the final standings.

On the heels of almost 20 victories, Mississippi’s Evan Ellis claimed the Durrence Layne Late Model Weekly Racing Championship in 2018. Fellow JDRE clients, Steve Russell and Sid Scarbrough completed the Top-3 finishers in the final series standings.

Ohio’s Devin Moran added a late-season, major event win with a $15,000 victory in the Tommy Pope Racing #22 Super Late Model during Whynot Motorsport’s Park Fall Classic.

Devin Gilpin doubled down with Super Late Model Track Championships at Brownstown Speedway (Brownstown, Indiana) and the famed Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio). Gilpin also opened eyes by earning the pole position for the 2018 edition of the World 100 before leading several laps in the 100-lap finale. He ultimately finished sixth.

Other Track Championships included Jeff Rine at Pennsylvania’s Port Royal Speedway, Derek Fisher at Kentucky’s Richmond Raceway, Sid Scarbrough at Jackson Motor Speedway (Byram, Mississippi), Evan Ellis at Magnolia Motor Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi), Chace Pennington at Magnolia Motor Speedway, and Lee Ray at Magnolia Motor Speedway.

Kevin Salter utilized JDRE power to pick up the $10,000 triumph in the Mid-America Street Stock Championship at Batesville Motor Speedway (Locust Grove, Arkansas) in September.

“The drivers recognized here represent just a few of our great customers, and their 2018 achievements,” Dickens noted. “As always, I encourage our drivers to report their wins and championships to us so that we recognize them on our website and social media channels. From the bottom of my heart, I say ‘thank you’ to everyone who chooses Jay Dickens Racing Engines to power their racecars.
