So you know who can have another reason to bewitch.

16 DPi, 9 GTLM and 18 GTD have entered this weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring.

Personally do not care for the sharkfin(some kind of ugly) and the new formula of prototype, but for at least now it seems to be consistent with car counts with the additions of international teams.. Going to be interesting how many of then run full season and how many are just entered the premier events.

We really need a motorsports only TV network again. With March madness and other events going on the 12 Hours is once again all over the dial. Jumping from FS1 to FS2 to Fox Sports Go.

Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring
9:30 AM to 9:40 PM CDT IMSA TV (International Only)

Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring
9:30 AM to 11:30 PM CDT FS1
11:30 PM to 2:40 PM CDT FS2
2:40 PM to 5:00 PM CDT Fox Sports Go
5:00 PM to 10:00 PM CDT FS2

Of course the Continental Tire Series still has not recovered from the changes IMSA made. At one time it was the largest and most competitive road racing series in the US. Hard to believe it was not that long ago the series had to split the two classes at some tracks due to having too many cars(70+)

Line up for this weekend is

GS 27
ST 5
TC 6 (not growing as fast as expected when it was introduced)

Prototype Challenge series looks to be having decent car counts for a new class

LMP3 18
Mazda LMPC 9 (out going spec class)

Here is one thing that really holds sports car racing in the US back in my opinion. Drivers classification.

Porsche GT3 Cup.

Same cars but have different classes for Platinum drivers and Gold drivers. Most US racing if you run in pro division then you are a pro and not classified by what level pro you are.

GT3 Cup USA Plat 18
GT3 Cup USA Gold 10

If that is not enough they have a separate GT3 Cup series for Canadian drivers

GT3 Cup Canada Plat 9

Hell they are all the same cars so throw all of them out there together and let the best man win.

Good stuff but I will be watching a much better race in my view, the kick ass Gatornationals from historic Gainesville Raceway. I'll check on Sebring but the ole TV will have live streaming from the track on NHRA All Access as well as the coverage on Fox Sports. Ah, the smell of nitro. Plus the Factory Stock Showdown with the Copo's, Stangs and Challengers with many pro drivers as well as the crème de le crème in the sportsman ranks with near 40 entries will be awesome The Blackbird was the first Stocker in the 7s'.

Will Gator Nationals be streaming qualifying rounds on Saturday? I know elimination for the top 3 classes do not begin until Sunday. Saturday qualifying will be on FS1 at 10 pm.

So there should not be much a of a conflict between Gator Nationals and Sebring.

NHRA has seen some significant increase in TV after switching to FOX.
